Muhammad Rishad graduated from the `Centre of Excellence in Lasers and Optoelectronic Sciences’ of Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in 2009, with a Master’s degree in Photonics. Thereafter, he joined the `Ultrashort Pulse High intensity Laser Laboratory’ at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR, Mumbai), India as a Junior Research fellow. He was promoted to the rank of a Senior Research Fellow in 2011. Rishad is studying towards a PhD in `Time refraction and Metamaterial nonlinearity’ in the Extreme Light Group at Heriot-Watt University. Currently he is the Assistant Professor at the International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology. His research area includes intense light matter interaction, nonlinear optics and metamaterials
